Kinematic Characterisation of the Human Pelvis in Horse Back Riding by Using a Full Body Inertial Sensor System
نویسندگان
چکیده
In horse back riding the rider’s kinematics was usually measured through visual observation. Today, 3D optical motion capture on treadmills is the golden standard method. However, there are differences between the horse’s treadmill locomotion and the overground locomotion. The aim of this study was to investigate and compare the motion of the rider’s pelvis in walk, trot, and canter under field conditions by using a full body inertial measurement system. Ten professional riders rode their own horses wearing a full body inertial sensor system. Gait-dependent characteristics of pelvis rotation in riding under field conditions could be found. The possibility to characterize kinematic data of horse and rider under field conditions using a full body inertial sensor system seems to promising for researchers and horsemen.

Object Recognition on Horse Riding Simulator System
In recent years, IT convergence technology has been developed to get creative solution by combining robotics or sports science technology. Object detection and recognition have mainly applied to sports science field that has processed by recognizing face and by tracking human body. But object detection and recognition using vision sensor is challenge task in real world because of illumination. ...
متن کاملA biomechanical modeling of an automotive passenger body to investigate the vertical vibration in various road profiles using transmissibility analysis
In the current paper, a biomechanical model of human body with unique structure is developed for evaluating the biodynamic responses, the vibration transmissibility and the transmitted accelerations to vertical vibration for the seated position with ignoring backrest support. In this regard, the 6-DoF Lumped-parameter model with six concentrated masses which are connected with linear springs an...
متن کاملCommon injuries in athletic horses at riding clubs in Tehran, Iran
Various forms of intensive sport place stress on the musculoskeletal system of the horse, during both racing and training. The musculoskeletal system of the horse has an inherent ability to adapt to the demands of high speed exercise, but exceeding the threshold of adaptive capacity may result in some form of damage. Continuing racing or training may delay the repair process and put the horse a...
متن کاملClassification of Horse Gaits Using FCM-Based Neuro-Fuzzy Classifier from the Transformed Data Information of Inertial Sensor
In this study, we classify four horse gaits (walk, sitting trot, rising trot, canter) of three breeds of horse (Jeju, Warmblood, and Thoroughbred) using a neuro-fuzzy classifier (NFC) of the Takagi-Sugeno-Kang (TSK) type from data information transformed by a wavelet packet (WP). The design of the NFC is accomplished by using a fuzzy c-means (FCM) clustering algorithm that can solve the problem...
متن کاملCorrelation between Trunk-Pelvis Inter-Segmental Coordination Parameters during Walking and Disability Level in Chronic Low Back Pain Patients
Background: Chronic low back pain (CLBP) disability has been particularly frustrating because its treatment has been a great therapeutic challenge. Disability has been suggested to depend on different factors that should be found and considered in the medical management. The inter-segmental coordination is often impaired in CLBP subjects; however, to the best of our knowledge, there is no evide...
